Nero 8 is slow, has a non intuitive interface that has been changed from version 7 without adding functionality. When running on my machine is freezes the whole machine during burning yet reverting to version 7 works fine. I made the mistake of buying the Nero 8 serial number without trying it first. This was based on the past bad experience with the trial version of Nero 7. It eventually came good but buying the serial number didn't release the product and I had quite a palaver trying to clean the old version out of the system to reinstall an operating version 7. Nero 7 works fine now. Nero 8 is in the bin---nero says they will not refund my money---well we'll see. I'm not spending my time to help the support department make the product work---its either works or its not fit for purpose. Advice? buy something else or find one of the many 'free' copies available if you really think you need some of the features
Gr11zzly, Everyone has an insatiable appetite for upgrade. However, change isn't always good. I suggest you stick with Nero 7 for now until Nero 8 stabilizes. There are also myriads of freewares out there that you can use alternatively: ImgBurn for Nero Burning Rom; DVD Shrink for Nero Recode and DVD Flick for Nero Vision.
