I have a problem with nero 8, I was doing fine with nero 7 with copying movies. I switched to nero 8. I use dvdfab decrypter, then dvd shrink/ which uses the nero burn engine. The problem i am having with 8 is that it will play the dvds (burnt) fine on the pc, but when I put it the dvd player it says no disk (error) is there a setting on 8 which needs to be set, like I said it will work fine with nero 7, but I like the new features of 8.

    Hope someone can help

I don't believe that the swithc to nero 8 would fo caused your problem.

Did you switch to a different brand of DVDs?
Are you burning at a faster speed? (stick to 4x or 1/2 the rated speed of the media)
Are the DVD's being finalized? (although if autoburning using shrink, this should be done)
If you're using DVD+Rs, have nero booktype them as DVD-ROMs (shrink can be set to do this).

Would there be a setting in 8 to change it to the booktype, I know where the shrink is. Also I am using the same dvds as I always have been, burning at the same speed, nothing has changed I just went from 7 to 8. Should I uninstall everything and then reinstall, also is there a program to wipe all the nero off clean.

    thanks

I am having the EXACT problem. I think it's bc I'm using the FREE DEMO of Nero 8. When I use Nero to burn it says my decoding is Mpeg-4 format. Which works fine on the PC but not in a stand alone DVD player. I still don't know how to correct the problem. NEED HELP!!!

I also had the same problem but solved it by uninstalling nero8, used a clean up tool for nero files and then downloaded and installed a registered version of nero7 from nero's homepage. And now it works again. Like other users nero8 also f..... up my explorer / controlpanel, so my advice is: do not use nero8 before several updates has been made to this faulty programme.
