I just recently purchased the Key for the Blu-ray/ HD Plug-in after learning that the "Ultra" version did not include it!

Once the key was entered I noticed that when trying to import WMV HD files using Nero Vision the thumbnail was black. Trying to process the file to a Blu-ray DVD would show a blank video with just sound!

If I leave out the Plug-in key the imported WMV HD file would show a thumbnail (pic) of the video and when processing would also show the video being processed as it should. However the audio was at least 8 seconds ahead of the video!

    With Plug-in:

Nero support is very slow and not to helpful as this point in time!

My computer is a Core 2 Duo at 2.66GHz with 4/GB of RAM. Windows XP with SP3 and all updates.

Does anyone know what could be the problem? I haven't heard any good stuff lately about Nero 8 Ultra....many bugs!

    Thanks,

    Michael

and this could be another bug. I don't know what to tell you..... what version of Nero do you have.... maybe you can update to the latest version and this might be fixed. I have Nero 7 and I don't plan on upgrading till I need all the new advancements. My Nero 7 version is stable and doesn't give me problems. but if you give the Nero version you have other members here might know if your version is buggy and tell you the one that isn't so you can update to that version. good luck. and welcome to afterdawn.

I have the latest released version.. 8.3.2.1 downloaded from their site.

I have not received this message after entering the Plug-In Key:

And still get this one when I do the built in diagnostic:

    I am upgraded to SP3!!!

This also appears when checking for editable Blu-ray support:

All of the bottome boxes are now green (good)....but the top boxes still remain in the red (not good)..even though they should be green!

Any idea how often Nero updates their software? can't wait for the next version to see if things get any better.

I'm sorry as I am not familiar with your problem and I don't have blue-ray or HD-DVD and I don't use Nero that way. I hope someone else can help you out. If not I guess you're at Nero's help support hot line. I wish you luck.

just as suggestion..... when adding pictures to a thread... please cut down the size so you don't have to jump from side to side to read the thread.... this can be very annoying for the people who are trying to help you out. thanks.

"Upgraded" to 8.3.6.0 and the problems still exist! Still no WMV HD video thumbnail and consequentiallly no video after the encoding is done and I try to play the video.

Does anyone use WIndows XP Professional and has tried a Blu-ray commercial DVD? What shows up in MY COMPUTER under the drive label....is it recognized??? If I use a BD-RE disk and store WMV files on it it identifies the CD label...but if I make a Blu-ray editable video or video where is now label but it is just identified as a "CD drive"! What is going on???

I wonder if Vista works the same way??

    Thanks,

    Michael
