Nero 8 updated not playing right?

    I put in a new ram to 1 gb and a liteon dvd drive/Nero 7 essentials cd and loaded it.
    I upgraded to Nero 8 and updated with the free update it said on cd cover.
    When I pay play the dvd with nero 7 it was smooth but playing nero 8 is not smooth and jumpy a little stops and starts. What changed?

    Any one have anything to help me?
    As stop and stop playing of videos.
