Hi all, Kind of sorry I ever got this Nero 9, I can't figure out how to do anything with it. I have a Reader's Digest music CD that I wanted to make a backup of in case it got scratched. The CD copy didn't work at all...it would act like it was reading the info but when supposedly burning it would get to 9% and then kick the cd out with an unspecified burning error. So...I tried ripping the music to disk first, and it did do it. But when I try making a cd out of those ripped tracks it would again get to 9% and kick the cd out with an unspecified burn error. Now I do have the log saved but don't really understand what to make of it. Could it be that Nero won't copy it because it's copyrighted or something? Here's the log...please someone repy! CdRom1: SCSIStatus(x02) WinError(0) NeroError(-1135) Possibly a power calibration error. I would suggest: 1. Clean the laser lens (at a minimum, blow out dust) 2. Slow down your burn to 16x What brand blanks are you using?
Hi and thanks for writing. I'm using TDK DVD+R's and actually had the write speed taken down to 12x (after a try or 2). I didn't think about cleaning the heads, but I use VSO ConvertXtoDVD all the time and it works just fine so... Thx and if you think of anything else please let me know.
CDs have different burn characteristics from DVDs. Your observation is noted but quite possibly irrelevant. I have had DVD burners completely fail for one type disc (CD) while they burn quite well for DVD, and vice versa and each time it was a problem with the drive.
