Got a wierd one here...I am testing Nero 9 for my office environment. I have installed Nero 9 Standard as a domain admin and when I log in using a normal user I get the following problems.

I can burn one CD ok but if I want to make a few copies, as soon as the first copy is done the program freezes for about 5-10 min. It freezes at the screen where it asks to insert a blank disc to write to... Once it starts going again, the CD drive seems to disappear. Can't find it in My Computer or under Device Manager. So I obviously can't burn another CD. I have to hard reboot the machine to get the CD drive back. It won't even reboot on its own.

On Nero.com I found something called Nero Burnrights which is supposed to allow users to burn cd's. It greates a group called Nero. Apparently its only for Nero 5 and 6 tho. But I tried it and it didn't seem to help much. I have also granted full permissions to all nero folders to all users (App Data, Common Files, Program Files...Anything I could find related to Nero). Now i'm kind of stuck here and not sure what else to do.

    Any ideas???

    Thanks Everyone.

Hi, I wish I could help. Same problem happened to me yesterday. Burning 6 DVD's and 18 CD'S. If you burn 6 copies the first one is OK then when you insert the next one the machine freezes. I had to reboot, the computer came close to going through the office window lol.

What I had to do was burn one copy, then it would ask burn again. I would insert a disc and "click" burn again. It worked for all the disc's but you have to do it manually.

If I find anything out I will post it here.

Try turning off auto run when a disk is inserted in windows.
