    Hello everybody!
Can somebody please help me find solution for the Disc error I get with Nero 9. This error is produced with one of my cd recorders (name will be included in the log). With the same recorder I can produce image files, but can not write image files to the disc. About 30% into the disc completion I get Illegal disc error and the cd is ejected. Although, if i burn the same image on a diffrent cd drive (with diffrent cd type), i can successfully complete the project. I searched lots of forums and lots of threads to find solution, but no luck. Any sujestion will help, and if someone has the will to teach me how to read the log file (or atleast parts of it) I will be very thankfull.

    Maybe too high.

Download and install and run Imgburn.
Select 'Write image file to disk' and select the file.
Insert a blank DVD and set the burn speed to 4x.
If it works, next time try 8x.

Nope, still the same error. No matter what speed setting i choose. See the thing is that when it starts burning, the buffer levels fill up. It notifies me of the lead in, but the progress bar never moves from 1%. When i get the illegal disc error and the disc is ejected, I look at the cd and it is about 30% written information. Forgive me for my english grammar. English is not my native language. Any other clues from Nero log??

    hey man!

i know what is this bullshit u r facing! Actually the cd or dvd u r trying to write is write protected and nero check for protection while writing data and hence abort the operation. U first make a backup of this cd/dvd with software like clonedvd which will remove its protection and then u write the files with some free software like cdburnerxp.

Hope it will help u bro!

Thank you for your posts and comments!
So, what you are trying to say is dump the NERO Crap and move on to something else. The deal is that the image I have crated is actually one of my own compiled data CDs. The same image is used to burn on both of my drives. One drive that actually burns the image is Memorex. The other Drive is in this error log<TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-S202G>. What I’m trying to get at is why does one of my drives burn it and the other one gives me error. Although, the above mentioned CD drive “TSSTcorp” will burn on other programs, and another thing is that the same drive use to burn with no problem with nero until recent upgrade in Nero version.

I had this exact same problem. For me, it was a program accessing my disc drive while it was burning. It was actually windows' stupid autoplay (I hit write as soon as the writing program saw the disc, but windows was slower and screwed it up once it recognized it). Now I always wait at my computer until it shows up and cancel the autoplay, and then burn. So far, no more errors.
