Here is my situation. I loaded Nero 7 essential that came free with a new computer. I backed up files with Nero 7 Essentials to dvd disk Jan 2008. Hurricane Ike destroyed my hard drive. I tried to reload Nero 7 that came with the computer but it won't load. Is there a program out there that will restore my files or do I have to buy Nero 7 or 8 online? Will Nero 8 restore Nero 7 files? Is there another alternative?
A bit more info on your back up process would be useful. Did you creae a back up with Nero Backitup and burn it with Nero Express or Burning Rom? here is what i suggest. Insert the disc in your drive. Now go to My Computer and click the drive with that disk in it. See if windows will explore the contents. If so then assuming you used nero backitup, copy the nba file to your hard drive. Then change the file extension from nba to zip or rar, then simply extract it with WinRar. It will say the archive is corrupt but should extract the data anyways. Hope that helps.
I am pretty sure I used Nero back up, but the file extension is "nco". Would Nero use that extension?
