Can someone please have a look at the log below to see where the problem is. I am using Verbatim DVD+R 8X (I am burning at 4X) and have used 3 now and they have not burned 100% (I have got 2 of this batch to work with no problems so I need to rule out if its a bad batch or not) Thanks in advance. I had a similar dilema with some Fuji disks (a few burns worked but most did not). They sent me new ones but they did not work either. I gave them to my girlfriend in hopes her MAC would like them. For the techie who answers the question about this log file: Could you point out spots in a log file that you would typically find where something is amiss. In fact this or a good explanation of the Nero log might be a "good reference fac" to be posted on this sight. Just an idea. Good Luck Davey
I have just burned two more discs at (8X this time) and this worked fine both times - I am thinking its some dodgy discs in the batch.
@Davey121 - stumbled on your previous problem here - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/227369 - firmware is up to date, so media is either newer than the firmware knows what to do with (which i doubt as i use Verb +R 8x and various other flavours of Verbs), or the firmware is 'older than it might be', albeit up to date - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1910 - yeah, media isn't being detected correctly in fact this 3liner is what you should be seeing if your firmware was up to date enough - - edit- in my case there, that's an 8x +R Verb Datalifeplus with media code of MCC003 (very nice discs indeed) - splat!. not sure what to suggest due to the firmware letting the side down. You're gonna have sporadic results i'm afraid. This is one reason why i'm very picky about the burners i buy... @Oopsla - there are Nero how-to's out there somewhere but dunno where as i've never seen one What i make a point of in every single logfile i attack is to explain each section i find to be incorrect (as simply as i can). Interpreting the logs is easy for the most part...
@DAVEY121 The AOPEN DUW1608/ARR ( if you go to the AOPEN e-FORUM) seems to have a lot of problems recognizing media which, according to the list which I have D/L'ed from that site,it should have no business finding fault with. Note that both the media which your drive stumbles over are excellent choices (RITEK,MCC/TY). I fear you have a dud drive and if it makes you feel any better,I have the same model. Although I have no problems burning with my drive, all of my disk scans,(Verbatim, Maxell, and TY are mediocre). If it were not for the fact that the drive was a gift, I would have ditched it weeks ago ;(
@ creaky~ just a little, small, miniscule correction MCC003 is 8x dvd+r coding for the Verbatims, the 16x +r Verb you referring to is MCC004~ *quietly exits as i do not want the wrath of Nero Log master to be inflicted upon me*
oops, quite right, sorry, dialled in for a work problem at same time (note to self, 4hours sleep every night is no good for multitasking). will edit that buddy...cheers...
I had the same Problems with the same SONY burner. I looked everywhere for help. Nothing could be done. I just about gave up trying to burn DVD/CD with the 700a when I checked the warrenty and I scrapped in the time period. I sent the Burner to Sony Service and out of nowhere they sent me a new Burner. A Sony DRU-800A. No cost to me. The note with the drive said "not repairable, DRU-700A no longer available." This suggests that a problem exists with the DRU-700A but they Sony can't or will not admit to a problem. Send your DRU-700A to Sony service if under Warrenty. Other than that I don,t know! Good Luck from Maddjeff
@maddjeff - sorry to hear you're having trouble with your 700A, however i only pasted the Sony paragraph as an example for the original poster's Aopen burner problem, my 700A is doing still work, probably about 2000 flawless burns so far and (touch wood) no sign of slacking.....
