Make sure no other software is open that may have a claim staked on the drive preventing access. Other burning software like Roxio's Easy Media Creator can sometimes cause problems. Some music sharing software can be a problem as well. Have you tried using Device Manager to uninstall your drive. Upon system restart it will be automatically reinstalled. Have you tried going back to an earlier restore point when the burner worked? This error can also be caused by faulty hardware so if all else fails to solve the problem, install the drive in another system and verify that it does work correctly.
