i had an error message almost exactly the same as yours. i was burning fine until a month or so after installing my newly purchased dvd burner. The new burner i installed was the exact same model and burned fine for a while. when i got this error message, it burned some circles here and there. i can only guess that my burner is faulty. have you had any change in your status? my burner wouldn't even do anything after several tries!
I was burning fine few weeks ago aswell - hour plus projects with no problems - still using the same blank dvds as I was before and all of a sudden it decides not to work now. I dont think there has been any change in the status - this is the 1st error I have got where it says communication error - maybe there is a fault with my burner aswell.
i am going to see if my dll file is outdated by going to nero's site and getting the dll there. i will see if that will change anything. i will continue to post my findings, please do the same so we can figure this out dude! later!
@Davey121 - - firmware is a few revisions behind, A080 is here - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1910 - splat!. hopefully the firmware update will sort this out - uninstall Nero's InCD, it gets in the way. Uninstall Nero, uninstall completely via Nero's Clean Tools - " http://www.nero.com/en/Clean_Tools.html " reinstall Nero, WITHOUT installing InCD..
i tried to use clean tools and reinstall nero, that didn't help. i had to replace my dvd burner and i am now back in buisness, for now. i noticed though, in my device driver settings, under driver details, that all the drivers i used to have listed there from software like decrypter is no longer listed. when you install new hardware do you have to reinstall software for the best result? I also accidentally chose a region on my dvd burner settings and don't know if i need to set it to nothing or even how to go about doing that. thoughts?

You're using a different mode. For movies, open nero, when you choose new compilation, choose 'dvd-video'. Then maybe do a 'simulation' burn thus not wasting a disc but it will request a blank disc and go thru the motions with the disc.. Then paste that section of log..
Hi Sounding thick now I no - When u say choose new comilation - is from the 1st menu when u go into nero express then select dvd video files. also I went into nero recode - and burned the footage onto to cheap disk no problems - then did the same thing on the ridata disks but it failed - sorry about posting all the logs - not sure what parts you need. can't see much wrong in the logs at all.... yup, that's exactly what i mean about the compilation - EDIT OUT ALL references to your serial number - either your drive doesn't like that media (not saying it's bad media), or your drive is the culprit - splat!
All seems ok now - I have burned 2 projects fine. only 1 disk did not work so I am thinking its just a batch of dodgy disks. Thanks again
