    Hi all,

I have a problem. I have a NEC DVD RW Drive and have used it in my computer for the last 3 months, burning DVD's from Nero, XCopy and other programs with no problems.

I have just bought a new setup, Motherboard, Hard drives etc.. but am still using this DVD drive. I have installed a fresh copy of windows, nero and DVD Shrink and DVDXCopy. I now have a problem, where Nero and DVD Shrink burns 1% (header) of the DVD and then locks the computer and you have to press the power button to shut it down. However DVDXCopy has no problems what so ever. I have looked at other threads on here but none of them are the same, I am using the same media that I have always used and have never had a problems with it so its definatley not a media issue (DVDXCopy wouldn't work either otherwise). I am very computer literate and just can't work out what is going on.

The only thing that is new, is that my 2 hardrives that I am using are now SATA and set up as RAID 0 array. The DVD drive is still using the IDE input.

Please help, this is doing my head in!!!! Thanks...

Oh and CD's also burn with any program with no problems...

let's have the LAST section of your Nero log then, it's in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log, but DO NOT post your serial number, which usually begins with '1A21' or similar..

There is no log file there. The application crashes as soon as it starts burning and before it creates a log file! Urgh!

I have tried the DVD drive in a friends machine and it work fine so its not the drive either.

Any more help would be greately appreciated, Thanks...
