I downloaded nero ultra version. Install went well. My system is 1. My system, dell 8100, 512k, os(me), dvd=sony dru 530a..... tried a burn of an ISO format. Burn went beautiful.... So nero talks to my drive, media etc. Now I try some other features and nothing works???
Such as disk to disk copying. Erase rw disk. utilities such as drive speed test. The most common error I got was a failure to burn. Read went perfect. No burn, using disk copy. remember it has already burned on this same media using a stored ISO image that I downloaded....
I tried to find error msgs. No luck ...
any ideas. Oh before I forget all the usual removal of running processes and various burning procedures have been done as I run dvdxcopy gold and plat so I have been thru that nightmare....

Do you have an ASPI layer installed? If not get it from Nero.com or Adaptec.com.

    luck-

Are you using the trial version or the full version? Also did you install InCD4?

You won't have it if your using the trial version. InCD4 is a packet writing software. Also using the trial version, your limited on what you can do. If you don't want to buy the full version, you can buy an oem version.

I guess i have a different idea of what a trial is. Since they shut down after a trial period I would expect to be able to try out more than one function. Guess I had better stay with easy creator. At least I know that works... With Nero I get msgs. I can't even look up....
Well thx for the help anyhow I was about to get this until so many things started not working......

Well I used to use Roxio 6, but eventually got Nero 6. I think Nero is sooo much better, you just have to get used to it.

I hear u flip.... If ther are function that are not suppose to work, then they should grey out the function. Presently I am in the middle of a function(copy disk to disk) the read works then the write stalls and throws up a message, which I now find out is a standard msg. saying write failed. Were it not for a successful burn previously I would suspect a config or hardware problem. But as previously stated config, hardware, and media appears ok. No where in the docs can I find attention to my issues....

    alkebulan,

Yea, very odd. Still could be the fact that it is the trial version.
