Why does opening Nero 7's iteration of Nerovision (or Recode apparently) reboot my box when my Motorola HDTV 6412 cable box is hooked up via firewire for capturing to my PC????? Version 6 didn't do this. I do NOT use Nero for capturing, I use CAPDVHS. If your interested in capturing video from a 6412: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=403695 I just spent two days trying all sorts of stuff and learning new swear words only to find unplugging the GD 1394 cable allows the app to load. Captures from the HD cable box STILL(As did the previous version of NE) have a GD gray bar on the bottom of the frame. ONLY Nero displays them. But only Nero allows me to make 5.1 disks. DEATH TO THE GRAY BAR!!! Wolf
I'm sorry, but I got lost trying to understand what's going on here by going to that link. It looks like some folks are giving steps on how to capture from TV? Unfortunately, I'm not on par to that level yet (which I haven't try). However, someday I'll definitely try though, but for sure not now. As for Nero 7? Some folks had reported that there is some bugs in Nero 7. As much as I wanted to help you out, I'm clueless on this one.
I had thought myself somewhat savy till I got interested in this stuff. I've spent time reading, and playing around with it. A LOT of time. Originally so I could have a decent DVD of a Deadwood show. It is time consuming but the results can be pretty cool. But HD captures always have this gray bar on the bottom of the frame in NeroVision. No other app displays them and ONLY HD captures have them. TMPGEnc for instance does not show it. But it can't handle 5.1 sound. I had thought the new version of NeroVison might not produce this artifact but so far, it DOES. AND it crashes my computer if the 1394 cable is plugged into my computer. I do NOT use Nero for captures but have left it connected for convinence.
