Can anyone get Nero Digital files to play on any of Philips MPEG-4 Dvd players? Nero claims that NeroDigital is "fully mpeg-4 compliant", while Philips claims their machines (DVP-624, DVP-630,) decode MPEG-4 and Divx. Since Nero Digital files won;t play on Philips's machines, which one of them is not compliant? They are both members of the MPEG Industry Forum, so you would think that they would adhere to the same specs. Anyway, I am hopin that ccampbell picks up on this thread and can add some insight. Sorry if this is in the wrong area, but it is purely a playback issue.
I have exactly the same problem using Nero Recode and a Philips DVP-624. Does anyone have an answer for the problem
Sorry I did not post this sooner. The folks at Ahead contacted me and explained that only the NeroDigital adiou files work, not the video. When I pointed out their claim about being "fully compliant, they danced around the issue and told me to look forwardto NeroDigital stand alone players. Needless to say, Philips has come back with nothing. I got follow up calls from a tech support guy for about three weeks, but that stopped. I actually did manage to get it past "level 2" tech support with Philips, and supposedly the got in touch with the manufacturer. I spent about 2 hours on the phone the initial tech dude, and got him interested enough to actually look into this for his own curiosity. He's the one that called back and let me know they had not forgotten about me. He either got bored, or yelled at for having an open ticket for so long, because he stopped calling. sniff...sniff... nobody loves me!
This isn't a perfect solution, but it is the best I have been able to come up with to date... you can read about it at my post here: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/117601
