I downloaded Nero 7.0.1.4b today and tried to copy a non-protected DVD 'x' to a CD using Nero Recode. I then received the following information: 'Encoding to Nero Digital started ->Compiling 'x' ->Failed to read from the file %s.' and the process stopped. Can anyone please explain what has happened, what this means and how to avoid this problem? TIA.
Let's have the "very last section" of your Nero Recode (Nero Recode should generated an error or successful log). If you can't find it, then have Windows search for files and type in: recode log.txt or nero log. But if Nero Recode failed when it's burning, then go here: C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero 7\Core\NeroHistory.txt -- now post the log here, but REMEMBER to EDIT out your Nero serial before you're going to post back.
I received the same error... Here is the last part of my recode error log... Seems to be failing on the Line 381. If you need more info or the whole log with serials edited, let me know. 20:01:52 File burn_dvdfiles.cpp, Line 1152 Compile DVD: begin copy 1 20:01:52 File NeroRecorderBase.cpp, Line 506 Writing to disc: D 20:01:52 File NeroRecorderBase.cpp, Line 520 Free capacity on disc: 4152281 sectors (4173824) 20:01:52 File burn_dvdfiles.cpp, Line 684 Compile DVD: begin deep analysis 20:02:08 File burn_dvdfiles.cpp, Line 381 Failed to read from the file 8ˆY. 20:02:08 File burn_dvdfiles.cpp, Line 382 Compiling DVD volume failed 20:02:08 File burn_dvdfiles.cpp, Line 301 Compile DVD: exit 20:02:08 File burner.cpp, Line 993 Failed to read from the file ¨žŠ.
