I am trying to burn a DVD without the special features, just the movie. What files need to be in the VIDEO_TS file besides the main 1Gig VOB files? I am making a lot of coasters so PLEASE HELP! I am in a snowstorm, and I can't go out and buy new DVD-R media!
hello, If you've been following a guide ( try Seamonkey420 ) then you should drag all your new files across into the Nero Video_TS file( and nothing in the Audio one. Follow the above guide (address below)and you can't go wrong. The only problems I found tended to be media issues ( ie the make of DVD+R disc, nothing else) http://www.geocities.com/daseamonkey420
besides following the guides, you can test whether the dvd will play from the hard drive with a viewer like PowerDVD--use the option "open dvd files on hard disk drive", then browse to the folder with your ripped files and select only the video_ts.ifo file--the DVD should then start playing within a short time, and you can verify the quality, chapters, and other attibutes look OK. if the movie plays normally from hard drive, that doesn't guarantee success, but if not, you're going to make another coaster. to gain experience, work with a straight copy dvd (one which will fit on a single DVD-R), not a dual layer. compare the size in total bytes on the source and ripped folders--they should match exactly. use DVD-RWs to burn first attempts if you can--they can be wiped and reused many times.
