- 4465MB is writing to very outer edge of discs. change this setting to 4300MB thus avoiding the outer edge and not sacrificing much space - sounds to me like something wasn't done quite correctly in the dvd fab process. As i don't use Recode, could you maybe pls try something for me - use Nero Burning Rom to do a 'simulation burn' (this goes thru the motions with a blank disk but doesn't write to it) with compilation type of 'dvd-video'. then post the section of logfile it generates from c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log, (but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar). hopefully that will provide a better error re the VOB files. i know the error i'm thinking of but it's early and i can't quite remember it, Burning Rom should give a better error (something like 'dvd compliance failed' which again means that something wasn't done correctly in the ripping process)
creaky -- The movie is about 7.4 MB. & Nero Burn rom says its too big. Plus NBR kept "simulation burn" greyed out. Any other ideas?
oh of course, doh!, it's too big. well i think you need to persevere with Recode, finding whatever it was you did wrong, thus causing the vob errors, or maybe try DVD Shrink (free) to shrink the movie to 4300MB; ps, the guy who wrote Shrink works on Recode now... so apparently they're very similar (i haven't used Recode though)..
I tried Shrink already several times, no luck. Would not finish encoding. What can I do to make Recode work? Thanks
so your ripped it with fab and shrink wouldn't work did you try reauther in shrink or at least remove any non essential aspects of the disc becuase i ripped this using the above but removed all non essentials in shrink and burned with decrypter
With re-authoring try to do movie only, I get either a VOB error or "Invalid access to memory location" Any other ideas? Thanks
I think maybe someone else will have a better idea but you could try slysoft anydvd which removes encryption and rip to iso with decrypter and then burn with decrypter that worked for me on a movie that had a block file section
