Hi, my Nero stops when I put a DVD-RW into the drive and sometimes Windows stop working too. I burned a CD-RW too and when I tried to play on a dvd it said "unknown disc". Sorry for my bad english. Turn off the multisession and use a simulation burn until it's resolved. Although your firmware appears up to date, the disk is not being recognized properly. There should be a name and an id code. In the posted image, note that my DVD-RW is an 'OPTODISC' - Nero should show this Information - the burner should be reading it and passing the information to the software. I would obtain a known good disk brand ('Verbatim' DVD-R) and try a simulation burn at a moderate speed (half the maximum shown on the package or 4x). If the simulation fails, try installing and using 'Imgburn' to burn some data to a good DVD (use the 'Test Mode' - which is a simulation burn until it's resolved). http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/imgburn.cfm If that fails, I would use the Nero Clean Tool to erase all traces of Nero (you have too make note of your serial numbers before doing this) - although I really don't think Nero is the cause of the problem - and test again with Imgburn.
