nero errors(looks like 1106?or 1196?)

    ok, i know theres lots of threads on this ou t there and i have trawled through them all trying everything i see.

    dma has been enabled

    background:

    I have used convertxtodvd to convert .av files to dvd files, no problems apparent, but whenever i try to burn to disk, i get the following error logs. ive tried using dvd shrink, copytodvd, and nero itself. it would appear to be a nero error i get
    any help is appreciated, i have enough coasters without these damn disks adding to them :(

    Have you tried another brand of disk (Verbatim for choice) in place of the CMC that you are burning?
    Failing that try cutting back the burn to 4x.

    Also, there is a drive listed as a BTC, but there is a note that says

    "Detected as DVDRW-IDE 16X" with newer firmware.

    I see Roxio,
    Roxio Zap will get rid of that, sometimes Roxio and Nero don't mix in some instances.
    Try updating to the latest Nero 7, version 7.10.1.0
    available here.

    Ok, tried newer firmware, new nero, got rid of roxio, still wont work with the cmc mag disks, tried an imation disk and it works perfectly, looks like the disks are at fault:(

    looking at getting new ones now, im looking at http://www.supermediastore.com/taiyo-yuden-silver-thermal-8x-dvd-r-media-200.html
    are these any good? what do you suggest?

    but being in britain are there any other suppliers i could use that are closer to home??

    You've got the good ones. Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim are the best, not sure where you can get the good stuff over there, try PM'ing Creaky as he is in your neck of the woods I believe.
