I am editing many of the home movies I have and am using Nero Express 3, which came with my Sony DRU-710A DVD burner.
After I have editied the movie, added the menus and chapters and burn the movie, it takes about 2 hours for Nero to process/convert the data and then the burn begins. My movie size is usually 3gb.

My questions: Is this the normal processing time for Nero Express 3 or is it my computer?

I have no other programs running during the process. I am buying more memory soon and was wondering how much of a difference it will make and if I need to buy new movie editing software too.

My machine- Dell Dim 4600, P4 3GHz, 512MB DDR SDRAM, Sony DRU-710A dvd burner

From what I understand NVE takes sometime to process, up to several hours. If you read bbmayo's guide on NVE you will see in his last statement, that you should be prepared to wait. Guide

Ah, thanks for the link to the guide. Anyone have any suggestions on software that has similar features to NVE, but is faster?

Or is this common with all DVD editing software?
