    Hey,

I am having a problem with copying a DVD through Nero Express 7.
I place the DVD in my drive and it copies it to a temporary file on my hard drive successfully, then prompts me for a blank DVD. I put the DVD in, and it gets, I assume, about halfway through the burn process and then tells me that it had an error. Can anyone please help?

I am pasting the log file below.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

    Hello.

The first thing that jumps out from the log is that you're using media made by CMC Magnetics one of the lowest cost and lowest quality media suppliers. Try some higher quality Verbatim, Made in Japan labeled Sony/Fuji, or Taiyo Yuden media.

I assume you have a Dell laptop. You might check to see if there's an updated firmware available for the burner from Dell's support site. I think you have the latest but I don't keep up to date on that burner.

I don't like the direct copy feature very much in Nero. It seems to cause problems for people. You might try using DVD Decrypter in ISO Read mode to just rip the disk image to your HDD and then use either DVD Decrypter or ImgBurn in Write mode to burn the ripped image.

6X might be a little fast for a laptop burner. Try 4X instead.

Thank you very much for the quick response, I didn't realize anyone had written me back yet!

Well, I tried w/ DVD Decrypter and ImgBurn, but they had errors too.

I'm thinking its the media too now.
What's a good brand to use?
These are Memorex DVD+R, but you probably already gathered all that from my error log.

    Thanks!

What nasayin recommended. Made in Japan labeled media by Sony and Fuji will usually be made by Taiyo Yuden as well. Verbatim is the easiest to find. Laptop burners can be finicky.
