Sorry to be a pain, you've probably had hundreds of threads exactly the same as this. I've been trying to burn a cd for a friend for ages and everytime I try it fails (not always at the same place) I've checked DMA uninstalled the burner and then reinstalled it. But to be honest I haven't got a clue what I'm doing so I was hoping someone could help me solve my problem. Hi Lisa, First of all, I see 2 serial numbers, which probably means you didn't completely uninstall Nero 6. Go on Nero web site and download the Nero Clean tool and uninstall Nero, then do a clean install. Second, your compilation is too large.: Although you have Overburning activated, it does not mean it always works. First check if your recorder supports overburn or not. Go to Recorder menu(eg. open Burning Rom)->Choose Recorder and select your recorder from the list. You will find information about the recorder,if it supports overburning or not: Also, overburning depends on your CD media, they overburn differently, and some don't at all. I would start with a clean install of Nero and a smaller compilation. Also, you would benefit from some more RAM memory, don't use the computer for anything else when you do the burn; another 128 RAM would probably be good if you get it at some point. Hope it helps.
thanks for your advice the overburning thing wasn't really an issue (I think!) I was trying to burn music on to a non rewritable disc that already had stuff on it without realising! about the ram: do you mean free some up or install more?
I mean install more RAM, like buy another stick of at least 128 MB. You can find inexpensive stuff online.

More memory will help, but it's not the cause of your problem.
