I am ripping with dvd shrink. the movie is on the hard drive. when i try to burn in dvdshrink or in nero itself it says burning but stops at about 6% or so and just sits there saying burning but not actually donig anything. I am using a sony dru-700a and nero that came with the drive. these dvd discs are getting expensive any help would be apprec. rox
If the reinstall of Nero doesn't help, a fresh ASPI might do the trick and certainly couldn't hurt. If there are any newer firmwares available for your burner, an update may help as well although it's new on the market so there may not be any. ASPI: http://www.hazza.dsl.pipex.com/faq.htm#ASPI Firmware: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?category=4&manufactor=30 Another thing to look at would be uninstalling InCD if you have it (can cause problems) as well as disabling Windows IMAPI burning service (also causes problems and sucks anyway).
roxydog, buy rw media til you get it going. good luck............ _X_X_X_X_X_[small] [bold]GO VOLS![/bold]........Dell Media4600, XP home,Pentium 4 @2.80GHz/800Mz, 512MB, 280 HD w/8MB, 17" flat panel, AIO-A920, 8x DVD-ROM, integrated 5.1 audio, HP dc4000, Plextor PX-708UF[/small]
thanks. I will try these when i get home tonight. Guy at work suggested i should slow the speed down..any thoghts? rox
I have always set speed for optimum video, as I don't mind a little extra time to get better quality. depends on what you're using and what media you're writing to. Same problem for me...I posted on another thread regarding this problem. I was suggested to uninstall my Nero 5.5.10.56 and reinstall...I did that and actually upgraded to Nero Ultra 6.0 with regrettably the very same results. I am using Ritek G04 DVD-Rs (4x) and am using a Sony DVD DRU 500 UAX. Pentium III, 650 MhZ...Windows XP...16% free on my 2nd hard drive which is where I decode via DVDShrink. I had successfully been able to burn for over 100 DVDs up until now...Not sure what is going on.
well after all that. it was a bad ide cable. fu<k me who knew. by the by the aspi thing in the above post did not work. it kept saying that it was for win 95 only, but I guess i don't need it anyway because it works fine now. dvd shrink to rip and resize and nero to burn. thakns for all the help and suggestions.
Roxydog, just for the heck of it, install dvd43(it's free, you can get it in this forum), after starting your computer, insert movie, go directly into nero recode. Use it as you would shrink. See if you don't like the results and ease of program better. Just a suggestion, always nice to have a back-up plan, who knows.......... _X_X_X_X_X_[small] [bold]GO VOLS![/bold]........Dell Media4600, XP home,Pentium 4 @2.80GHz/800Mz, 512MB, 280 HD w/8MB, 17" flat panel, AIO-A920, 8x DVD-ROM, integrated 5.1 audio, HP dc4000, Plextor PX-708UF[/small]
can you use nero with out un-encrypting it? or does dvd43 do that for me....hmmmm i will check this out and reprt back asap.
That is excactly what dvd43 does, i use anydvd because it has worked on EVERY movie I've put in, but dvd43 works pretty well also. Basically they rip the movie enabling you to go DIRECTLY into Nero. _X_X_X_X_X_[small] [bold]GO VOLS![/bold]........Dell Media4600, XP home,Pentium 4 @2.80GHz/800Mz, 512MB, 280 HD w/8MB, 17" flat panel, AIO-A920, 8x DVD-ROM, integrated 5.1 audio, HP dc4000, Plextor PX-708UF[/small]
