I hope I can find the solution or my problem in your precious website & I'll make it so brief: my laptop was working fine before I do formatting ,I had to do it because I got a virus,anyhow after formatting it & update the windows (vista) I did install my basic programs like nero 8 .I was unable to burn any audio cd.even through windows media player.I though the problem because I did windows update,then I Re-format my laptop again with no windows update but the problem remains!whenever I start to burn any audio cd, it fails to burn & nero gives me this message (Illegal disc) then I lose the cd & goes to trash.I tried different brand of cd's with even slower speed but no luck.also when burning with windows media player, it starts to burn then gives error essage & ejects the cd without writing. I need help in that which I think is a software or hardware issue. please anyhelp in solving this problem will be appreciated. I have a very similar issue to this, i didnt have to reboot but etc but just gone to try and burn a disc and it will not work, through nero, windows media playuer, media centre or itunes. My Drive is also very similar a DVR K17b, i believe its a firmware issue but i cannot find any updated firmware so if anyone has any ideas let me know
