Hi, I am new to this forum, but has to start right away with a request message I had been using Nero for the last 1,5 year or so, never had problems with it, until now... I have latest Nero installed, latest firmware for my 832S, but tonight copying 2DVDs failed, every time I received "illegal disc" message. It had never happened before, I tried to do things as suggested in other posts about this illegal disc thing (free Ram before copying etc.) but it did not help, I got the same error again. I give my logs below, does anyone have an idea what can be the reason? I will be very grateful for the answers, as it has become really frustraiting, have to copy the discs for tomorrow and there is now way I can do that. Tried 2 different speeds, yesterday I burned about 10 of those TDKs without any problem @8. thanks a lot in advance! I have to add now that those error messages appeared when I tried to copy the DVD through Nero's "Copy DVD" option. A couple of minutes ago I gave up Nero's "copy dvd" option and I first copied the files to the hard disk through windows explorer and then opened Nero and used "Create Data DVD" option, burning @8. It worked, recorded without any errors. Could it be that Nero's "copy DVD" option somehow f... up? Files were some divxes, so no question about encryption,,, no idea what could be the reason, thanks again for your time
the only thing i saw in your logfile worthy of mention is the 8x burn speed. then noticed you only have one optical drive and thus when you put the destination disc in, Nero chooses maximum burn speed instead of a lower speed. (most people recommend 4x you see). i myself don't use any copy options such as this one as i prefer to copy/paste the video_ts folder from one disc to hard drive, then i use the 'dvd-video' compilation type in Nero Burning Rom
Thanks a lot, thats how I will proceed in the future too. I dont think the 8X speed is a problem since I burned lots of DVDs at this speed and never had problems, the issue is I think as you have suggested the "copy option" in Nero, sth must be wrong with it. I will use DVDdecrypter&shrink instead (it burned yesterday about 10DVDs@8 without problems). thanks for your help, comments and time cheers
