Hi all. I've read some other threads here regarding Nero not opening, and haven't seen this solution yet, so I thought I'd post it. For those who might be having trouble with Nero not opening, Nero opening extremely slowly, Nero big pause before opening, including Nero Recode, Nero Burning Rom, and possibly other Nero Programs -- try unplugging MagicJack! MagicJack installed 2 additional drives on my PC, and I suspect Nero is going around polling them, and getting back crap for data. As SOON as I unplugged magic jack, Nero Recode popped up on the screen. I checked tasks, and it was sitting there doing nothing (recode.exe was a task, but still was not appearing on my screen -- till I unplugged magicjack). If you have any OTHER programs or hardware that Nero might be trying to scan as a hard drive (programs, like virtual drives), that might also be preventing it from opening, judging from what I learned from MagicJack.
I have a MagicJack also, and Nero is not compatible with it running. It has something to do with the virtual drives the MJ creates when it's plugged in.
