I've been using the same burner and media for awhile now. I reinstalled Windows, and now I can burn CD's, but not DVD's with Nero 7. Something about recorder not activated or something. It's THE SAME setup I've been using. Media too! You're burning at 2x speed, being a little to cautious? Try 4X.

According to device manager, DMA is enabled on all drives. DMA6 (133) on 3 HDDs DMA4 (33) on DVDRW Any idea why Nero thinks otherwise? Downloading firmware update now...
No-- it's internal. I upgraded firmware and the disc burned! Really weird though-- same burner, same media, same everything as before... just glad it's working. Thanks for the firmware link!
