Nero not being able to erase 700MB CDRWs

I've been going insane lately trying to use some 700MB CDRW discs i have. I had a friend burn something onto it (less than 700mb) and my drive (Artec 32x12x48) reads them fine. When i go to erase them, i get "power calibration erorr" and "medium speed error" with Nero. The empty never-used dics i have Nero or my computer won't even recognzie (the drive will spin forever). Any help would be greatly apreciated.

 

Do not you think those blanks are 2x and you Artec does not support it below 4x? Besides that namely me have a bad experience with some CDRW blanks (mostly no-named) and some drives (Ricoh f.i., which works pretty with brand ones, fails to write/erase to no-named blanks)
