i am using nero 7.10.1 and trying to burn an avi to dvd using 'make your own dvd-video' either through startsmart or burning rom. when i used to load an avi file into it, it would be fine and convert to dvd compliant at the same time as burning and thats why i would see the bar at the bottom show as maybe 4. something GB rather than 700mb for example that the original file was. when i now try to open/add the avi file in startsmart it just loops back to startsmart main menu and if i use the burning rom it says... One or more files could not be added to a compilation. The following files may not reside in the VIDEO_TS directory of a DVD-Video compilation. Only compliant DVD-Video files VIDEO_TS.IFO, VIDEO_TS.VOB, VIDEO_TS.BUP, VTS_nn_0.IFO, VTS_nn_0.VOB, VTS_nn_0.BUP and VTS_nn_m.VOB can be added to the VIDEO_TS folder. Please add files from a completed DVD-Video title or use an authoring software like Nero Vision to create DVD-Video files from standard video files such as *.avi and *.mpg. i believe from a quick look around the internet that it isnt converting it so will not burn an avi to dvd-video any ideas to help guys?
thx mate, used it a few times now. works a treat, takes massively longer than nero to encode then burn with imgburn but good quality etc, cheers
