Hi all, I'm using Nero Express v.5.5.10.26. I know it's ancient, but it's "down-'n-dirty" and exactly what I want — no bells, buzzers or whistles: A few clicks and I'm burning. I've run into a problem in that Nero won't give me the option of burning to my Pioneer CD-RW\DVD-RW drive; it doesn't even see it when I click the drop-down list. However, when I click on "Disk Info", my drive is in the list and reads whether I've got a blank CD or whether there's info on the disk. Is there an .ini edit, or reg tweak, somewhere to get it to see the drive? I've uninstalled (Major Brain Damage) and reinstalled to no avail.
drive probably isn't in the nero "table of supported hardware" .. oh yes.. nero has one of those.. IS the drive a burner?.. why don't you use imgburn .. it's better.. more simple.. free.. and modern.. honest
@manestle, My OS is XP Pro, SP2. I've already gone into the registry and looked for — and couldn't find — any Upper or Lower filters, if that's what you're suggesting. @tnt1125, There's too many free burners out there to have to pay for one. Plus, Nero Lite has been widely panned. But thanks for the info. @Paula_X, Yes. Although I'm not the brightest candle on the Birthday Cake, at least that much I know. As far as IMGBurn goes, I've got that for my DVD .ISO files, etc. It's never really "behaved" when I've gone to burn CD-R's. As you can tell by the age of this thread, I'm in no great hurry to burn anything; yet. I just want to know if it's possible to tweak Nero, or whether I should forget Nero and use another burner. Thanks for the replies.
