Hi all, just got myself a shiney new Pioneer DVR-106D and was looking forward to burning a few DVD's, but my copy of Nero (v 5.5.10.54) seems to be locked to my original Plextor CD writer. Are there any none ways to unlock the software so it will burn onto my Pioneer DVD writer. The Nero software was bundled with the plextor drive about 2 years ago.
sbridle, Let me guess, you pulled out the old drive and put the new one in and no go with Nero, Huh ? You couldn’t have done that even if you owned the Nero outright. You have to delete Nero, reboot, install new drive, install Nero, reboot then you’re good. Anyway, since it was bundled you can’t use it anywho - so delete it - You now have 2 choices, 1. Use Nero 6.0 trial, and then purchase it (see link below). A 30 day, free, fully functional Nero 6 download can be had here: http://www.nero.com/us/631939541422774.php OR 2. Do a “Google” for Nero and get ver. 5.5 for a few bucks. Then download DVDShrink 3.1.3 and backup yourself to death ) http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_shrink.cfm Pete
Pete Thanks for that - up and running with the latest version of Nero after a very slow download on Dial up ! Shaun
