I have the same exact problem. What is an image recorder anyway?

Now I know nobody would really do this, but did you borrow/burn a copy of nero from a friend? Being that their business is burning/copying, the people at ahead software are pretty smart; when nero comes bundled with a CD/DVD burner, it will only recognize that specific burner once installed. If nero does not recognize your recorder, it pretends that you don't have one at all; the alternative is the image recorder, which constructs an "image" of the disc onto your hard drive, presumably to be burned to a physical CD/DVD later.
Legitimate and fully functioning versions of nero can be purchased(and downloaded immediately) from their website.
