i just updated to nero recode 2 and now when i recode a dvd9 to fit a 4.7gb dvd 4 i am having some problems. the product after i burn the image to my computer seems like it has 2 sizes. when i click on it, it says its a larger file then when i check its properties and so it wont burn on the 4.7gb dvd. it seems weird. During the burning process it says something about layer 2 or something that i didnt notice in the first nero recode and i usually dont burn a whole dvd just the main movie. someone please help me out if you know what to do. thanks...
It did the same thing to me. I have no idea why this happens, but here is what I did. I just ran it through dvd shrink another time, to get it to the size I wanted.
@bbop707, Many have said to set target size to 4350 or 4400. I use 4400 so that it will fit on the single layer disk. Hope this helps. MovieDud
thanks for the replys..moviedud, when you reset the size are you using the full disc or is there still some space left over?
Techically, there is space, what this does is prevent such problems as not enough space on disk to burn. Cheap media will have problems if you burn to the 4.7 mark, I haven't noticed any problems with great media, yet the guys and gals at ad have a whole lot more experiencs. I have had a few times that with nero and when I use the 4.7 target that I get that message and so arniebear and others suggested a target of 4350 or 4400. I select 4400 and prevent any problems. i only use top notch media now but i still stick to 4300MB myself, out of paranoia, but more importantly it's the figure that i recommend constatntly in replies, better safe than sorry, especially over such a small amount of megabytes, but it's such a shame some of the manufacturer's can't make the dye reach the edges of discs
