I have been burning dvd's for a while now with the shrink and Nero combo. I just upgraded to Nero 8 ultra edition from some 7.? version. It was working good for a while, but then something happened. Now after using shrink I go to recode and everything seems fine, import dvd is fine, analysis is good, but then when I get to burn settings and press burn I get a message telling me to "please enter a valid target folder". My burner drive shows up fine in the destination bar. I've tried reinstalling both nero 7 and 8, both now have the same problem, I've also tried unistalling my Primary IDE channel in device manager. The only way I am able to burn now is by creating an ISO image with Shrink and burning with imgBurn. BTW does anyone know which way (ISO image or splitting into dvd files) gives a better image?

There is no difference in quality if you make an ISO or save as a folder on your hard drive. If you use DVD Shrink, there is no point in using Nero Recode to transcode again. Just use Nero Burning Rom or Nero Express to burn the movie.

So should I just create the ISO image with Shrink and then upload that into Nero Burning ROM?

Either way, you create an ISO or a folder, and then burn the Video_Ts folder or the ISO with nero Burning Rom. If you burn an ISO, you have to burn as image, not as data. After you create the ISO, right click on the ISO and choose "Burn With Nero Burning ROM".
