Hope you can help a little, have backed-up several dvd's using nero rom from version 6 demo that plays on pc and stand alone. Recently purchased nero 6 oem,I am unable to back-up a dvd using this software that will play on both. Only pc will play. Used Memorex dvd+r each time. Have made 2 coasters so far. I guess you get what you pay for. Any suggestion?

HI Marie64, I use Nero OEM 6 when I rip with DVD Shrink. I only use the express part of it, using the DVD video part which when started already makes the Audio TS folder and Video TS folder for you. Then just add the ripped files into the Video TS folder. Make sure the files go inside the folder not below it (folder should look open.) My stand alone player is a picky Sony at it plays the backups just fine. Jerry

Dear Jerry746 thank you so much for your reply. Unfortunatley it didn't work I selected DVD Video from Nero Express, double clicked on Video TS folder added my files I had downloaded from DVDshrink. Then burned. My Toshiba SD-1600 stand alone keeps trying to load my dvd or reads
as disk error. Think I may have to ponder this a while. Thanks for your suggestion however. As I said my dvd's backed up flawlessly with the Nero dvd-rom. I'm sooo... confused.

Marie64, Here's something to check that just happened to a friend of mine with a Toshiba SD2800.
I burned a movie for him , checked it here at home, he took it and said it didn't play, We tried it in our store on 4 other players and it worked. He brought in his owners book the next day and I found out he can't play +R dvds only -R. Check what you are burning and what your player can play. There shouldn't be any difference between Nero rom and Nero express as to how it burns. Is your burner dual format that will burn both +R and -R? If you burned a copy before that played on the Toshiba, it should play with either version of Nero unless you changed Blank media type. Jerry

Also when you added the ripped files to the VIDEO_TS folder did you see the file icons below folder add a little musical note along side each one. This tell you the files are inside the folder not just below it. Jerry

One more thing, I don't double click the VIDEO_TS folder. I select ALL FILES from saved ripped location and then just drag them ontop of the VIDEO_TS folder. IT will auto open if done right and the little notes appear next to files added.
