I just got Nero 8 and of course the first thing I try to do is disable Nero Scout, the eater of resources. I look online and everyone including Nero says its so simple. It says to "click on my computer, right click Nero Scout and click disable" or something. When I click on my computer there is no Nero Scout to click on. I just can't find it anywhere in My computer. What am I doing wrong here? The only way to disable it is to do it from task manager.
Uninstall Nero use the Nero clean tool after you’ve uninstalled it then run the setup again but this time choose customer install and deselect Nero scout you can uninstall it from the start menu and select Nero in the program file list and there is an option to modify the setup but its best to do it the full uninstall way
Thanks for the advice. But I could not find scout in the installation stuff. I read somewhere that you have to start scout to disable it, even though it runs in the background anyways. I clicked to disable scout and when I start Nero there is NMIndexstoresvr.exe taking up 25% of my cpu. YEEEARGHH So.... What I did was search for NMIndexstoresvr.exe and moved the file out of that folder. Now when I start Nero, only Nero uses up my resources not Scout.
You know it probably is under Home but when I reinstalled this morning I didn't see it. Scout is disabled for now and this weekend I will try uninstalling and reinstalling it minus the Scout. But I appreciate the help and advice.
