This is just a general question, but I have NERO Ultra edition...I got it from the official site. The only thing is..I got the serial number indirectly from a friend...the thing is when I pasted the number in..the program worked. But does that mean the program accepted the serial number or will that cause problems in the future? The reason for asking is, I've had so many instances where nero gives me a "burn processs failed" message. I ruined about half a dozen DVD discs because of Nero's error. Can anyone shed some light? Thanks.
You have pirated your software. Evil pirates are punished. You've been cursed with the dreaded "burn process failed" spell.
JJ, did you also purchase the serial number from Ahead Software? If not, your software, as Overwhelm has stated, is pirated.
Sounds like karma if a pirated Nero is ruining discs In answer to your question, a key either works or it doesn't. An invalid key won't affect the performance of the software so your problem lies elsewhere such as poor quality media.
in response...it's not "pirated" per se...it's my friend's serial number. She never uses her program anyway so she just gave me her number. So...the problem is not with the software but with my media or the settings? What could be wrong with the media? I've been able to burn a bunch of files on it without having any problems in the past. (I did buy them off ebay..the no brand cheap ones), but I do also have DVD discs such as FUJI and imation that I bought from bestbuy. They still give me problems..so now I'm scared of burning because I don't want to ruin anymore perfectly good quality discs
No way of knowing that but per se is, is what per se does. its probably cheap. and the dye sucks. I think you've answerd your own previous question. I have never used any of those media but you might have gotten a bad batch. if they are you giving alot of problems then maybe they are not that good. Try Riteks or Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim. If you can, post an error report of nero.
Try other burning software, to see if its the disks or the specific files you're trying to burn (they might be in your HD's corrupted clusters, for example).
try using a rw disc until you get the problem corrected . this will cut down on the coaster count . also your serial key could cause some issues but maybe not the ones you describe . have a look here about key issues on page 6 . http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/6/146923 hope some of this helps
I didn't think that the serial code could cause problems...but the symptoms aren't the ones mentioned in the other thread.
@JJYkim sorry i couldnt be more help . the use of a rw disc will stop you from wasting disc's though . @geestar20 not a problem , glad to help where needed . i too thought it was quite interesting that a serial key could cause issues other than it works or it dont .
isnt it pirated if you use your friends serial. so that means you did not pay the 69.99 dolarrs and are useing your friends.
Don't worry about your serial no. The problem is really Nero. I've destroyed a lot of CDs myself. If you're going to use Nero.. always have the SIMULATION checked. Also, you'll destroy CDRs if you burn multiple copies in Nero. I have to reboot my pc after every copy. For copying, I found Adaptec better than Nero. Multiple copying works perfectly in Adaptec.
