nero stops without error message

    Hi I had this problem a couple of times now i tried to burn some files on a dvd-r with nero the problem is it burns a few % sometimes almost the whole cd and then it just stops it sits there and does nothing i don't get an error message but it won't eject the dvd either if someone knows what's wrong please help.

    paste LAST section of Nero log which is in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log, but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar..

    i checked but there is no log for that process maybe it's because i had to close it in task manager?

    is there anything in the log ?, ie anything to help us with some clues..

    nothing at all but everytime it happens the buffer is at 8% it says action track and recorder state ready the time is still going too just the progress bar and the burner stopped

    maybe try this - http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/FAQ.htm.
    after that download dvdinfopro (free from www.dvdinfopro.com) and run one of those discs thru it's media info check, pasting results here

    where exactly do i see if it uses dma?

    @yukiko20 - now we're running on gas...

    - too old, latest is 6.6.0.15

    - yup, Nero is tool old to recognise your burner correctly

    - a-ha - DMA needs to be ON. fix like this -
    - any reason you're not finalising the disc ?. it needs to be finalised to work properly on other drives

    - try burning at 4x

    i just had to update it since one of the updates actually fixed that dunno why i didn't think about that in the first place >.<
