Hello: I bought Nero 7 to make archive copies of my kids DVD's since they use them as frisbees when I am not looking. But when I put the DVD in to make the copy I get a message that I can't copy copyrighted or protected movies. I am not a genius and would like some help using Nero to outsmart my 5 year old.
Nero won't copy an encrypted DVD. You have to rip the DVD with the likes of 'DVDFab HD Decrypter' then shrink the files down to fit a standard DVD disk with 'DVD Shrink'. You can optionally have DVD Shrink call in a burning program (IMGBurn) to burn the files to the blank disk. Install and run DVD Fab HD Decrypter and insert the disk to be ripped. Select 'Full Disk' and choose a target folder. Install DVD Shrink then install IMGBurn. Remove the DVD and insert a blank DVD disk. Run DVD Shrink and 'Open files' - locate the folder containing the files. Click 'Backup' and from the drop down menu choose a backup target (ISO file and burn with IMGBurn). http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_shrink.cfm http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/imgburn.cfm
Thank you very much. So I pretty much bought an expensive program that won't work? That's okay - that's not the dumbest thing I have ever done. Thank you for your answer though. At least know how I can get it done now.
I wouldn't sell Nero short. It has many fine features that you will find use for. BTW there are guides at Afterdawn for lots of software, including DVD Shrink et al. Good luck and someone here will help out if you get stuck.
we all human ;-], sometimes our own DMA gets disabled, i ususally see doc and take pills... good luck... and post back how things are going for you... Doctor attar has your back covered, and has given you pills, just need to eat them!
