    i am trying to convert my hame videos to dvd-r using nerovision 2 express version 2.0.1.9. i have used it to set-up chapters and when i click on the burn tab it creates the menues and transcodes the streams with no trouble it takes about 4 hours. wehn it starts to burn it will get almost athird of the way through then stop but the counter is still counting only it has stoped burning and the progress bar is frozen.

    what could it be? has anybody else had this trouble and fixed it? i have wasted 2 dvd-r's trying this and have stoped to find out more about my problem from you guy's that doe this all the time.

    thanks ahead of time for your help.

    Worst piece of advice I have ever seen ! (if you havent got anything of value to say , then do NOT post rippman)
    Forum Rules are in my signature , please read them.

    In my honest opinion klevious there are much better encoders than NVE 2 (and much quicker too).
    There has been known issues with NVE crashing on users btw...so it's not just you ;)

    If you can mate , have a try of MainConcept MPEG Encoder 1.4

    It's so much quicker than most other encoders & I do not have a lack of video quality for speed of programme either.
    Time difference in encoding (to DVD):

    NVE = 7-9hrs
    MainConcept MPEG Encoder = 2-3hrs

    NVE will do the whole lot tho , whereas after using MainConcept MPEG Encoder [which I used to create MPEG2 file,is DVD Compliant] I would then use TMPGEnc DVD Author to convert MPEG2 (which has 48000Hz Audio & is fully DVD Comliant) to VOB/BUP/IFO

    Have a little read up on them progs & see if you like the sound of.... !: )

    I was using nve to create the file and then using tmpenc to author the dvd, until i found main concept encoder, ithink it was a herbman post that put me onto it, cheers.

    Another good program to author the dvd is dvd labs, very easy to create as many menus and links, thumbnails etc, as you like. Click and drag a still frame shot of the movie to the object area, and it automatically creates a button using the image as a thumbnail.

    It really does poo poo on nero vision, after using a few proggies, i have to say the dvd author in nve is the worst, and the encoder is not much better.
