I recently purchased a new DVD-R. A dual layer pioneer 16x burner, I've been really happy with. The problem arises however when I burn a AVI Divx video as a DVD through NVE3. Even before I've burnt the video, during the "test your setup" scene where you have the remote control, the play back is jerky. It's smooth for say 4 seconds, then it will jerk for 300ms, then it will play smooth for 4 seconds, then jerk... on and on it goes for the length of the video.

I removed my DIVX codec and install a K-LITE full codec pack, but to no avail the problem continues! Could someone help?

I doubt I have a performance issue, I'm running a P4 2.8GHZ HT with 1mb Cache, Gigabyte GA-8IG1000MK board, 1024mb of DDR 400 running in dual channel mode, and all high quality peripherals. Transcoding and burning of an average 700mb divx video will take roughly 1 hour. The system is flawless except for this damn jerkiness!!

    Thanks in advance!
(ps ive searched and searched and searched but cannot find a solution already listed)

Maybe the jerkiness is due to the framerate conversion?....for me, this is the only weakness with nero...avi's that are ripped to a 23.976 fps seem to be worse (why do people rip to that framerate?..there must be a reason, I guess), and even though I'm in the UK and PAL is the standard, I always convert these to NTSC, they are slightly less jerky that way. I also never convert from NTSC to PAL because that seems to introduce jerkiness too (lucky my stuff supports either format). it may not be the problem, but the way you describe the 4 seconds and then jerk! sounds familiar...

    i was thinking exactly this!

So to burn in NTSC is the answer!

Well, it's the better option imo, if not the whole answer - there are progs that will convert framerates far better, but I'm lazy and just stick to nero. Or stick to PAL or NTSC rips!
