i am using [bold]nerovision express 3[/bold] to convert to dvd all divx files i download from the net. i usually compile anime with jap language and [bold]eng subtitles[/bold]. when i play the output dvd on my pc, all is fine audio and video. but when i play them on my dvd player or playstation2 in different tv sets, audio is fine [bold]but the video is missing some parts from all sides[/bold]. i can't read some of the subtitles being displayed at the bottom of the screen because some part of the bottom part is missing. same is happening when some of the subtitles are appearing at the top of the screen. [bold]i tried all the possible configurations possible in the "video options."[/bold] here in the philippines we are ntsc so i use 4:3 aspect ratio and the video source is also fullscreen format. i tried using the 16:9 ratio but the output video is too small when played in dvd players. i am not very comfortable in using other dvd author software because i have to convert divx-to-mpeg2 and that is too time-consuming. when using tmpgenc plus, [bold]a 25-min divx video will be converted to dvd-compliant mpeg2 in 50 mins![/bold] can someone help me please... [bold]thanks in advance![/bold]
Cool you saved me the time of posting . I have the same problem. I am converting AVI's to Nero Digital using Nero Recode. I then take those recoded files and burn them. But as you said the bottom is cut out. These are also anime files in Japanese with subtitles (Chobits). Its bad when i can see none or only half of the subtitle . My record settings are NTSC at 740x480 D1 (in the custom resolution setting). I have also tried 720x480 CCIR-D1. They both cut off. Is there some other program (has to be free ) Thta can do the encoding and burning? I know there has to be some way. I mean how does everyone else end up being able to see their DVD's?
everybody is probably watching their own-made dvds on their PCs that's why they are not experiencing such problems. i noticed in the tmpenc plus software when you load the dvd-ntsc setting you can see at the bottom of the screen, after the resolution "740x480" you will see "C65" and not the "D1" and "CCIR-D1." this could be a possible solution when we will be able to use the "C65" in nerovision express. do i make sense?
no i do not. sry I'm kinda newer to this stuff. even though i can make killer movies I just can't see the bottom of them .
I think it could just be the tv itself. Most TVs tend to oversize the picture thus leaving you with parts of the image offscreen so you cant see them and sometimes making hard to read the text on the bottom of the screen. I have the same problem depending on what Tv is use in my house(I could see more or less of the whole image of the show). I've even noticed that your tv can have an effect on other things like video games I hooked my GC up to 2 different tvs one showed more more of the image then the other.
Nah the picture looks the same on all my tv's. My 3 year old 27" high end tv (has component inputs and svid and all kinds of stuff), my 2 year old 27", my 5 year old 32" RCA, and my little 20" TV DVD Combo TV.
Well most of my tvs look the same image wise, too. but I have at least one that gives more image than the others(still over screened though but better anyways). So I was just offering what I think could be causing it.
