OK, I need some sage advice from those in the know out there. I have recently installed the latest update to Nero8 (8.1.1.4). This is now the third update since the release of Nero8. NeroVision 4 (Nero7) always flawlessly imported video files from DVD-RAM discs. These are made on settop recorders. The command is the "Import Disc" command. In NeroVision 5 (Nero8); every version crashes when this command is invoked. Yes, I have previously imformed Tech Support (support???) about this. They were all very interested. But, in spite of repeated email follow ups on my part, they never got back to me. I understand somewhat; new version; lots of bugs;... I have just decided to wait for the updates to correct this problem. However, I have now waited through 3 updates and the problem remains. I am baffled because the commands work perfectly in Nero 7 (Vision4). No, I am not going back to Nero7. I like the superior menu authoring capabilities in Vision5. Also, as you all know by now; removing the currently installed version, updateing to another version takes f_o_r_e_v_e_r............. Other programs (Corel VideoStudio) handle these DVD-VR files just fine, but I enjoy the elegant simplicity of NeroVision. Unfortunately, the company doesn't seem to realize that as their customer base starts to rely on other programs for work-arounds, that they will begin to erode that base. Anyone have any thoughts? Anybody else run into this problem? Perhaps nobody else uses these file type of (.VRO) files. Anyone with a settop recorder who uses DVD-RAM is already very aware of how convenient these discs are to use. (Cuts, Titles, Chapters, are really, really easy. Then into a computer for fine tuning.) Thanks, Ted
I jumped over to rixo easy media it has its own set of issues and missing features, basically the best thing you can do is work with nero and make up for its losses because tis not the all in one program it tries to be. I tried in vain to get it to handle soem video files but only after changing the comrpesstion type and format of the vid file did I get it to work, you can try using media coder or a ripping program to remove the files from the disc and put it into a format nero can more easily handle.
