I’ve installed both nesDS and NESter onto my memory card. I’ve also installed several .nes and .nds NES roms onto the memory card, yet every time I get a prompt that says something like, “No roms found.” I have the M3 DS Real card. Are the aforementioned emulators compatible with this card? From what I’ve done so far it seems like they are not.
when you run it, do you get a screen directory where you search for the .nes roms? are you sure you are looking at the right spot where you have placed the rom?
I haven't tested the emulators (someone is borrowing my M3 Real atm) but am sure they should work. Put the emulator in the root of your card (not in any folders) and try again, also some emulators want you to put roms in specific folders so check the readme files of each emulator to see if they have a preferred folder. If you have the GBA Expansion for the M3 Real you can put NES roms in the GBA folder and the M3 will use its built-in emulator to run NES games in GBA mode.
Checked out the pocketNES forum and saw that the nesDS is now DLDI compatible. You have to use this specific .nds file though... http://www.cs.utah.edu/~tew/nesDS/ Once you have that, put it and the DLDI file into a folder named NES (or whatever) onto your card. Then start dumping .nes roms into that folder. Load the card and you're off to the races =) I don’t know if the save feature works yet though…
What’s great about the DLDI compatibility is that you can stretch and scale the screen (using the stylus) in real time. Still trying to figure out the save function…
OK, got the save function to work (at least on Adventures of Lolo 1). Basically, all you have to do is point to "Save State" with your stylus and the game will save at that point. To load the save, just point on "Load State" with your stylus and the save will load right up.
