ok i have a netgear router and it is connected to a comcast modem, old netgear
&old comcast mode. so for a while ive been having problems with the connection droping for no reason for all of the systems connected to the network, so i specified for all the computer's to have their own specified ip address thinking the problem was ip conflicts bu t that didnt fix the problem. i have no idea how to fix my connection problems. the only way to temporarily fix the connection is by restarting, but now its like a game of Russian roulette while on the internet while i hope that it doesnt disconnect while starting this thread.

if using same ethernet cable from modem to pc that you were using from modem to router or router to pc then most likely culprit is your router. can you borrow a friend's to see what happens?
