I have installed a mod-chip into my xbox with slayer 2.1 as dashboard. I encountered an issue where my network for xbox doesn't work anymore. Have anyone encountered this issue?

make sure you have static ip set to yes in your evox.ini file and make sure that u have an ip address showing.. i have had to turn off anf reboot my xbox a few times when i couldn't connect.. also you need to be on the first screen on the evox dashboard.. meaning it win't connect if you are in system settings etc... or minew on't anyways.. i now transfer at 11,800 dunno what happened it just speeded way the fusk up one day.

I have tried both static and obtaining from dhcp. Eitherway I am seeing the IP address as 0.0.0.0. ... Would there be any chance that the newer XBOXES has protections against mod chips?

You might try the windows network wizard also and see if that works..

you can try a different network cable. make sure the router has a range set to allow for the extra IP you need. depending on the router you have, you can also check the DHCP clients table to see if the router is even seeing the xbox.
Dank - Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is where the router (or whatever source) assigns the IP each time the machine boots, instead of a static IP which never changes. With small networks, even if the IP's are DHCP, they rarely are ever different. other DHCP situations (like dial-up internet) the IP will be different every time you sign on (dynamic)

I was helping my friends modn' their older generation xboxs and tested it out on the same router port and cable. their network settings seemed to be alright. I think my build in NIC in my xbox is simply screwed...
