I have a network setup in my house, but when I try to access the computer that I am on now from the others, it says that access is denied and that I don't have permission. I don't know what I need to change on this computer so I can open it up and take files from it.

Hi - make sure you disable all firewalls on the pcs and make sure at least one file or folder is shared. Also, can you ping the pc that you're on?

I would not recommend to disable your firewalls. Before you do that just apply a shared folder to either the whole C:\ or make a selected folder shared.

Sometimes a firewall can cause you not to connect to another machine unless he has it configured to allow traffic from the others. I should have mentioned to re-enable the firewall after every thing is working fine.

I disabled the firewall on this computer but i'm going to check the others. The main problem that i'm having is with this desktop pc and an apple laptop. The two can't see each other but can connect to the internet fine. It says that they're both on the same network but i dont know what the problem is. I'll try the firewall stuff and see if i have any luck.
