So you are using Windows XP...

    To set static IP...

Open up Network Connections and select View Network Connections on the left hand side.

Now select Local Area Connection and select Properties.

Go down to Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and select it then click Properties.

Select the Use the following IP:

then under the static IP you want.

    eg First PC
    192.168.0.1
    Subnet 255.255.255.0

    2nd PC
    192.168.0.2
    Subnet 255.255.255.0
    Gateway 192.168.0.1

It is better off to leave Automatically unless you are having problems.

    Regards
    CoZZa

    Hi Coz.
    Thanks for the reply.
When i went there, lan wasnt even there to choose, but it's fixed now.
Now i'm having problems with the lan connection.
I'm using eMule, and when it's running I lose the connection like every 5 to 10 minutes.
While hooked up directly to modem I have no problems.
eMule relys on two ports, 4662 TCP, and 4672 UDP.
When I lose the LAN connection the TCP disconnects, but the UDP stays connected. I forwarded all ports necessary, and there not firewalled. It's got to be a problem with the TCP port.
    Any suggestions?

Sorry to lay all this on you,
it's just that I've been trying to work this out for a week.
(P.S. Just in case you didnt know, eMule is a P2P program)

    Thanks...
