I need a little guidance concerning getting started with dvd authoring. I want to be able to edit dvd home movies (created and finalized on a standalone DVD recorder). I normally use dvd decrypter to rip the movies to my HD, and I want to find a good editing program to do the edits. The files are saved to my HD in a .vob format. I have heard that some editing software programs won't let you edit these types of files. Also, some of my movies are over 1 GB in length, thus it is broken down into 2 or more vob files, can I edit them and get them back to play with no interruption? In short, I have a lot of Q's and would really like some advice. Thanks!!
Try TMPGenc DVD Author. A DVD is composed of VOB (and other)files which can vary in number according to the length of the video. Editing of main title ("the movie") is seamless. With this program, elect to make a DVD movie and browse to the folder containing the video files. http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/tmpgenc_dvd_author_guide.cfm http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/advanced_tmpgenc_dvd_author_guide.cfm
